New Baby in the House

I have observed that many couples, when they are expecting a baby, they either board their dogs, or just leave them be. Probably because they are scared of how he/she might react to the baby or if he might bite the baby. There are many things that makes your pooch the best babysitter you can have.

1) Firstly, when you are expecting a baby, do talk to your pooch about the same. They are very smart and understand the concept of reproduction and lil’ babies.
2) All dogs are fond of kids. They love jumping and running and playing with kids. They also like observing kids (personal experience, My Leo loves standing infront of a school when kids leave for their home, and i can literally see his eyes sparkling and wanting to just run towards them and play with them.)
3) When you bring back home your baby, carefully introduce the baby to your pooch. You can see the curiosity in his/her eyes on seeing a lil human baby.
4) At first, your pooch might feel ignored or left out, because all of the attention is on the baby. But sit with your pooch and give him/her your time too.
5) Let him sit and sleep near the baby. They will be the best babysitter for their lil’ hooman. They will play, watch and take care of them and act like their guardian.
6) They will love the baby and be more protective for him/her than the parents themselves. Because we all know, baby and dogs love from their heart and their love is of the purest form.
7) If your pooch was a naughty boy/girl, you will surely notice the change in their behavior after they have been introduced to the baby. They will be more responsible and mature as they also try their best to keep the baby safe.
8) Another advantage would be, your baby will never be scared of dogs and will be fond of dogs as the parents because he grew up with a dog as his/her guardian and best friend.
