VACATION

Do you feel stuck when planning a vacation because of your pooch? Don’t know what to do? Here’s some points you should keep in mind for your pooch when you are away on Vacation.
1) Believe it or not, they listen and understand you. Talk to your pooch and tell them to be a good boy/girl when you are away. It will help them cope up with your absence.
2) You can hire a dog nanny to stay at your place and take care of your pet.
3) Make sure you keep your home well ventilated when you lock the doors and windows.
4) Keep all the delicate items and breakable stuffs away from your pet’s reach.
5) Try and install a phone operated camera in your home to keep an eye on your dog. This way you can see and also talk to your dog when you are away.
6) If you decide to send your dog to a dog boading place, inform the manager about any medical condition or any other specific instructions regarding food and sleeping habits. They usually ask for your dog’s medical history before boarding. Also, take the food/water bowl as dogs prefer to eat in their own bowls.
7) When they return from the boarding place, check for any ticks. It is common that ticks may get transfer from one dog to another.
8) On your return, your dog may b little upset with you, but talk to him/her and spend time with them. They will come around. They just feel lonely in your absence.
If you take your pooch with you that would be the best. But make sure your hotel/ place you’ll stay is pet friendly. It would be a good outing for your pooch.
You can take your pet by train or airplane. All instructions can be found on their website.
For railways:- irctc.co.in
Or you can contact any railway agency for the same
For airplane:- individual airlines site
(Make sure they have ventilation system in the cargo section where they will keep your pooch. The on-flight crew will take care of the ventilation if there is a pet on board.)
Go on a vacation only when you have made proper arrangements for your pooch!!
